Glamping: Glamorous Camping

A new trend is popping up across the Seoul area. Glamping is a series of restaurants that create the atmosphere of camping in a posh environment and serve over-priced camping cuisine on name brand camping cookware.

Tables set up inside large tents can be reserved ahead of time. Our group was not that organized though, so we had to settle for snapping photographs of other people sitting inside indoor tents. There were also picnic tables set up on an underground deck where muscled Korean chefs sizzled steaks over grills. I was all for sitting here.

However, because it was about 95 degrees outside, I was overruled and we sat at a plain old table with plain old chairs in very cold air conditioning. Still, the food was delicious. We complimented our steaks served with vegetables on hot plates with beer served with a slice of lemon in aluminum cups.
