The above photos are from a night tour of Korea's famed royal palace, Gyeongbokgung. Last month, having just met for dinner, a friend and I stumbled past the open gates. The palace only opens at night a couple of times a year. In the spring, I had tried to visit at night, but the line wound around so much that the wait to enter surely would have taken hours. Last month, though, we were lucky enough to purchase our tickets without waiting in line and to walk around the minimally crowded grounds.
